About Adam J. Mamelak, MD
Dr. Adam Mamelak is an experienced dermatologist who maintains board certification in both the U.S. and Canada. He is considered an authority on dermatologic conditions, including the complex area of skin cancer. In fact, Dr. Mamelak is a well-known specialist in diagnosing and treating skin cancer. He founded the first Mohs micrographic surgery practice in Ottawa, Ontario where he treated many high-profile patients, including dignitaries and politicians. Dr. Mamelak relocated to Austin, Texas in 2011 to found Sanova Dermatology, a practice dedicated to comprehensive skin care treatments. He later opened The Austin Mohs Surgery Center in Austin – a facility dedicated to the treatment and management of patients with skin cancer.
Dr. Mamelak received his medical training from some of North America’s most respected schools, including Queen’s University in Ontario, and The Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland. He was given the Gold Medalist award while at Queen’s University, which is the highest honor awarded from Canadian medical schools. Dr. Mamelak regularly conducts clinical and laboratory research to stay at the forefront of new innovations. His findings have been published by many medical journals.
In addition to his expertise with Mohs surgery, Dr. Mamelak specializes in skin care treatments such as BOTOX® Cosmetic, dermal fillers, laser skin rejuvenation, sclerotherapy for varicose veins, eyelid blepharoplasty and more. He has been recognized for his excellence in dermatology, being voted a “Top Doctor” by several media outlets.
